 · I discovered Sex and the City for the first time when I was The show felt electric to me, a girl in the suburbs who dreamed of moving to New York to be a writer and go on fancy dates with "Sex and the City" – so heißt die Kolumne von Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker). Darin behandelt die "New York Star"-Autorin die Dating- und Liebesrituale der New Yorker Singles. Ihre eigenen Romanzen verarbeitet die passionierte Schuhverkäuferin mit den blonden Locken dabei nicht. Samantha Jones. Charlotte, of course, would hate Tinder, and find it too transactional and far from her princess dreams

15 Men From Sex And The City Ranked By Who We'd Date | TheThings

Because Sex and the City ended inthe same year Facebook was founded, social media doesn't exist in the world of the show.

Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte, and Samantha lived with landlines, rolodexes, plans made in advance, and photos taken with actual cameras - and even their flip phones only appeared later in the series. It's a snapshot of life in the '90s, and dating before Tinder, but how would this have changed if the show was rebooted today?

If these four friends were navigating New York with the help of Instagram and Bumble, what would be different for them - and how would it have impacted some of the biggest storylines in the show? From character changes to specific scenes, here's how social media would make a difference.

Carrie is known for being terrible with technology - she doesn't back up her computer or understand what that meansshe is utterly confused by most technology, and even in the movie, refuses to get a smartphone and doesn't know how to work Samantha's.

This is played off in the original series as a quirk: look how cute it is, Carrie is bad at the internet and uses her laptop as a glorified typewriter! In a modern world, though, this would be a huge issue. Especially working as a writer, Carrie would have to have a social media presence and understand how to post online, and her techno-phobe nature would have to be a plot point, as she would otherwise damage her career. This is a bit of an obvious one, but the volume of selfies would have to go through the roof in a social-media-centric reboot, sex and the city online dating can he see me.

Especially given Samantha's work in PR, and her ability to get into all of the hottest events, they would have been constantly snapping photos of themselves. This would even make an interesting storyline, with someone getting obsessed with likes, and someone else struggling with body image from all the constant photos. One episode of Sex and the City that lives rent-free sex and the city online dating can he see me fans' minds is when socialite Lexi ends up falling out a window to her death at a party - a truly shocking scene that took everyone by surprise.

It was a dark moment for the series, and one that led to the women talking about the death of the party girl in a much more symbolic sense, as well as a literal one.

If everyone had cellphones, though, someone would undoubtedly have been filming this the moment that Lexi started to rant and rave about how boring everyone was - and, for better or worse, that would have ended up going viral. Because Sex and the City is all about dating, Tinder would have had a huge presence on the show, even though it's more of a dating app than 'social media', per se.

Still, it can't be ignored, and all the dating apps would undoubtedly have had their moment in the series. Charlotte, of course, would hate Tinder, and find it too transactional and far from her princess dreams. Samantha, on the other hand, sex and the city online dating can he see me, would probably love it, and be thrilled to be able to just swipe a man over when she felt like it!

Miranda, most likely, would be the one to hate all social media, and rant a whole lot about the flaws of it. The no-nonsense friend who is always the busiest, Miranda would likely have heaped scorn on Instagram culture and refused to buy into it - and would have had no time to do so, anyway! One of the most shocking breakups of the series is sex and the city online dating can he see me Carrie and Berger decide to give it another try, but he sneaks out of the apartment in the night, leaving behind only a post it that says 'I'm sorry, I can't, don't hate me'.

Carrie is appalled at this way of ending thingsbut at least she knew! In the present day, Berger may have just changed his facebook status to 'single', sex and the city online dating can he see me, and left it at that. While Carrie was usually a fairly sympathetic characterwhen it came to Natasha, she seemed to completely lose touch with what was appropriate and what wasn't - and thankfully, sex and the city online dating can he see me, was called out on it.

In the series, she ends up trying to talk to Natasha after sleeping with her husband Bigand Natasha is rightfully appalled and tells Carrie to leave her alone. In a social media world, though, Carrie would have been even worse. She would likely have stalked Natasha's socials, and ended up being blocked. Miranda and Carrie get a shock when they bump into Aidan and Steve together, and learn that they are starting a bar and that they are on a double date!

It's not the only time that a character runs into an ex, and is surprised by their situation, either - but this wouldn't happen if they had social media. If this was the case, Miranda and Carrie would undoubtedly have seen Aidan and Steve posting photos together, and tagged in photos of the new bar, or with their new girlfriends, and running into them would have been no surprise at all.

Charlotte would undoubtedly hate Tinder but she would have loved the ability to be a Mommy Blogger. Especially later in the series, she quits work in order to be a full-time wife and later, motherbut she would have found a new niche as an influencer. Given her art background and her picture-perfect lifeshe would clearly be one of the biggest mommy bloggers out there, with photos showcasing her perfect apartment, fashion, dogs, and kids.

One of the biggest changes that comes with social media and smartphones, and much more texting would be that missing plans wouldn't be such a problem. In Paris, Carrie ends up missing her book fan party because Petrovsky asks her to come to the gallery with him - but if she just had a smartphone, she would have ended up getting her fans' information, and just messaging them to say 'hey, I'm going to be a little late!

Then, she could have shown up in time to meet them, and had a great night - even if she still would have gone back to Big in the end.
